The annual cannabis celebration day is approaching fast, and according to a recent survey by Ayr Wellness, 40% of employed cannabis consumers are planning to take the day off from work for 4/20 this year. The survey also revealed interesting insights into cannabis consumption habits among different demographics.

The Importance of 4/20 for Cannabis Consumers

According to the survey, 31% of respondents consider 4/20 a special occasion, and 42% of medical cannabis patients agree that 4/20 is an important day. Overall, 23% of those polled indicated that their cannabis consumption habits would increase on 4/20.

David Goubert, the president and CEO of Ayr Wellness, stated that the survey revealed interesting trends and insights related to cannabis consumption habits. He emphasized that the data proves that 4/20 is an important holiday for cannabis consumers of all types, so much so that nearly 40% are planning to take off work to celebrate.

Cannabis Consumption Habits on 4/20

The survey found that 71% of respondents said their consumption habits would stay the same on 4/20. Most respondents (73%) typically consumed cannabis between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., while 78% of respondents typically consumed cannabis by themselves.

When it comes to sharing cannabis with others, 88% of consumers who shared cannabis with others contributed to the supply with gummies (32%) and flower (40%) cited as the most shared products.

Comfort Level After Consuming Cannabis

The survey found that 43% of respondents said they are somewhat comfortable interacting with people after consuming cannabis, while another 45% said they are somewhat comfortable being in public after consuming. Moreover, 44% said they are somewhat comfortable consuming cannabis at social occasions when not everyone is partaking.

Cannabis Consumption Methods

The survey found that more than a quarter of survey respondents (26%) who are considered experienced cannabis consumers (between six and 20 years of consumption) indicated they smoked cannabis out of homemade or improvised devices.
